Trieste-Trst-Triest 1382-2017
Il 30 settembre 1382 la popolazione ladino-slovena della piccola città costiera indipendente di Trieste, sanguinosamente oppressa da Venezia, decideva di affidare la protezione delle sue libertà alla Casa d’Austria. Quel legame volontario, iniziato 110 anni prima della scoperta delle Americhe, è durato per più di mezzo millennio, sino al 1918, trasformando Trieste nella capitale marittima plurinazionale della Mitteleuropa. Dopo due atroci guerre mondiali, quel ruolo di Trieste è stato ripristinato dal Trattato di Pace che l’ha costituita dal 15 settembre 1947 in nuovo Stato indipendente e Porto Franco internazionale. Nel settembre 2017 Trieste ha celebrato perciò il 635° anniversario della sua libertà antica ed il 70° della libertà nuova.
Dne 30. septembra 1382 je ladinsko-slovensko prebivalstvo malega neodvisnega mesta Trsta, kruto zatirano od Benetk, sklenilo, da zaupa obrambo svojih svoboščin vladarjem Avstrije. Ta prostovoljna zveza, vzpostavljena 110 let pred odkritjem Amerike, ki je trajala več kot pol tisočletja, vse do leta 1918, je spremenila Trst v mednarodno pomorsko prestolnico Srednje Evrope. Po dveh krutih svetovnih vojnah je bila ta vloga Trsta obnovljena z Mirovno pogodbo, ki je s 15. septembrom 1947 ustanovila novo neodvisno državo in mednarodno prosto luko. Zato je Trst septembra 2017 praznoval 635. obletnico svoje stare svobode in 70. obletnico nove svobode.
Am 30. September 1382 entschloss die ladinisch-slowenische Bevölkerung der kleinen unabhängigen Küstenstadt Triest-die blutig von Venezia niedergeschlagen worden war-ihre Freiheit dem Haus Habsburg anzuvertrauen. Diese freiwillige Bindung, die 110 Jahre vor der Entdeckung Amerikas begann, hat mehr als ein halbes Jahrtausend gedauert und verwandelte Triest in die Seemehrvölkerhauptstadt Mitteleuropas. Nach zwei grauenhaften Weltkriegen wurde jene Rolle von Triest wiederherstellt und zwar mit dem Friedensvertrag der die Stadt und sein Territorium als neuen unabhängigen Staat und Freien Internationalen Hafen gegründet hat. Im September 2017 hat Triest deshalb das 635. Jubiläum seiner alten und das 70. Jubiläum seiner neuen Freiheit gefeiert.
On the 30th of September 1382 the Ladin-Slovenian population of the little independent coastal town of Trieste, harshly oppressed by Venice, decided to entrust the protection of its freedoms to the House of Austria. That voluntary connection, which started 110 years before the discovery of the Americas, lasted more than half a millennium, until 1918, and it made Trieste the plurinational maritime capital of Mitteleuropa. After two brutal World Wars, that role of Trieste is restored under the Treaty of Peace that, since the 15th of September 1947, establishes it as new independent State and international Free Port. This is why in September 2017 Trieste has celebrated the 635° anniversary of its ancient freedom and the 70° anniversary of the new one.
