Why Italy insults India since 2012 after killing two Indian fishermen

All Countries with a sense of dignity of State defend their soldiers who are involved in incidents abroad, but this defence consists in efficient legal means and diplomatic prudence.

Instead, Italy exploits any incident to trigger campaigns of nationalistic propaganda, to present each Italian soldier as an innocent benefactor persecuted by barbaric and ungrateful enemies.

In January 1991, in Iraq during an air raid, two Italian aviators were shout down by anti-aircrafts, captured by the local population, held as war prisoners and set free 47 days later, at the end of the conflict.

While the United States and the allies of the coalition repatriated their fallen soldiers in respectful silence, Italy started a huge political-media psychodrama about the two “good boys” captured by evil Iraqi.

In November 2003 at Nāsiriya an insurgent group attacked with a bomb-truck the base of an Italian military contingent, killing and injuring 86 people, soldiers, and civilians, both Italians and Iraqi.

The attack was predictable and the base was not as protected as needed, still, Italy hide its own liabilities, turning its 19 dead in the “martiri di Nassiria” (martyrs of Nāsiriya) with celebrations, speeches, monuments and the dedication of streets all-over the Country.

There is no other Country that calls “martyrs” the soldiers who travel to war zones around the world as volunteers, receiving high pays and well aware to be facing proportional risks.

In February 2012, off the coast of Kerala two of the six riflemen of the Italian Military Navy on board of a commercial oil tanker as anti-piracy “military protection unit” opened fire against a fishing boat, killing two fishermen.

The Indian Coast Guard did therefore demand the ship to dock at the port of Kochi, and the two Italian soldiers were arrested after the required investigations, to be rightfully committed for trial with the charge of murder.

The weapons were seized for the expert reports, the tanker was allowed to leave and the two Italian marines were not imprisoned, but given in charge to a State guesthouse, then to an Italian diplomatic mission, also, they did receive temporary permits to return to Italy.

A normal Government would have helped the two arrested with discretion, paying the rightful compensation to the families of the victims and hiring the best lawyers to archive the acquittal of the two, or a penalty to serve in their homeland.

Instead, Italy has blown up an international incident, denying India’s jurisdiction, showing contempt for Indian justice and for the fishermen killed, turning the murderers into heroes and demanding their release without trial.

By doing so, Italian politicians turn national public opinion into fanatics with pseudo-patriotic rhetoric as well as spending so much money on diplomatic trips and airplane tickets to surpass the costs of the reparations paid to the families of the fishermen killed and of a good legal defence for the two soldiers.

Many observers are asking questions about what might be hidden behind the fact that Italy insults India so absurdly since three years, in racist and colonialist terms, for a question that might have already been solved with normal diplomatic prudence.

Someone brought forward the hypothesis that there might have been an illegal cargo on the tanker, but the answer is much simpler: Italian politicians take advantage of anything to disguise as false patriotic missions the scandalous corruptions and inefficiencies in Italy.

And the incident with India demonstrates that, in order to archive their purpose, Italian politicians are ready to sacrifice their own soldiers, worsening their situation as they pretend to defend them, and in spite of the respect that is due to other folks and Countries.

There is also an inverse precedent in 1980s, when Italy did systematically violate the territorial waters of Yugoslavia to carry out illegal traffics, using motorboats with illegal, over-seized motors to escape Yugoslav patrol boats.

In 1986, a Yugoslav patrol boat shot to stop one of the escaping, illegal Italian fishing boats, killing a man. But Italy accused Yugoslavia of the violation and then falsified the expert evaluations to commit for trial and convict the master of the Yugoslav patrol boat to 15 years of prison.

The current incident with India confirms that the structural corruption and the arrogance of the Italian institutional and political system worsened to the point of becoming a strategic risk for the balances and interests of the whole International Community.

Italy is going as far as attempting to eliminate in silence the international Free Port of the Free Territory of Trieste, which the United Nations established in 1947 at service of the ships, goods and maritime, trade, industrial and financial enterprises of all States of the World, including India.

The Free Port of Trieste is actually strategic for the freedom of the trades with Central-Eastern Europe, with the Mediterranean, with the Indian Ocean through the Suez Canal, with the Atlantic through Gibraltar and with the Black Sea through the Bosporus.

The Italian Government, which is the temporary civil administrator of the Free Territory of Trieste on behalf of the UN Security Council, is violating its mandate and the rights of all other States by attempting the ultimate diversion of international traffics from Trieste to Italian Ports.

Where these international traffics would be no longer free from taxation and political discrimination, as these would suffer a whole series of influences and blackmail from the Italian system of corruption and mafia.

The same observers are also asking, since a long time, when are the other States and their enterprises reacting to those abuses, by requesting to the Italian Government and before the United Nations to observe the laws governing the Free Territory of Trieste as well as their own rights on the international Free Port.

La corruzione strutturale della politica italiana come rischio

Tutti i Paesi che hanno il senso della dignità dello Stato difendono i propri militari coinvolti in incidenti all’estero, ma per difenderli utilizzano mezzi legali efficaci e prudenza diplomatica.

L’Italia invece sfrutta ogni incidente per scatenare campagne di propaganda nazionalista che presentano qualsiasi militare italiano come un benefattore innocente perseguitato da nemici barbari e ingrati.

Nel gennaio 1991 in Iraq due aviatori italiani in missione di bombardamento vennero abbattuti dalla contraerea, catturati dalla popolazione, detenuti come prigionieri di guerra e rilasciati dopo 47 giorni, a guerra finita.

Mentre gli USA e gli alleati della coalizione rimpatriavano i propri morti e feriti in rispettoso silenzio, l’Italia inscenò un gigantesco psicodramma politico-mediatico sui due “bravi ragazzi” catturati dai malvagi iracheni.

Nel novembre 2003 a Nāsiriya un gruppo di insorti attaccò con un camion-bomba la base di un contingente militare italiano, uccidendo e ferendo 86 militari e civili italiani e iracheni.

L’attacco era prevedibile e la base non era adeguatamene protetta, ma l’Italia coprì le responsabilità trasformando i suoi 19 morti nei “martiri di Nassiria” con celebrazioni, discorsi, monumenti ed intitolazioni di vie in tutto il Paese.

Nessun altro Paese definisce “martiri” i militari che vanno in zone di guerra all’estero come volontari per le paghe elevate sapendo di dover affrontare rischi proporzionali.

Nel febbraio 2012 al largo delle coste del Kerala due di sei fucilieri della Marina militare italiana imbarcati su una nave cisterna come “nucleo militare di protezione” contro la pirateria hanno sparato a una barca di pescatori indiani uccidendone due.

La guardia costiera indiana ha fatto perciò attraccare la nave nel porto di Kochi, e dopo le indagini obbligatorie i due militari italiani sono stati arrestati per essere regolarmente processati con l’accusa di omicidio.

Le armi sono state sequestrate per le perizie, la nave è potuta ripartire ed i due militari italiani non sono stati incarcerati ma consegnati in una guesthouse di Stato, poi in una sede diplomatica italiana ed hanno avuto anche permessi di rientro temporaneo in Italia.

Per aiutare i due arrestati un Governo normale avrebbe agito con discrezione pagando i risarcimenti alle famiglie delle vittime e assumendo i migliori avvocati per ottenere l’assoluzione o una pena da scontare in patria.

L’Italia ha fatto invece esplodere un incidente internazionale negando la giurisdizione dell’India, manifestando disprezzo per la giustizia indiana e per i pescatori uccisi, trasformando gli uccisori in eroi e pretendendone il rilascio senza processo.

In questo modo i politici italiani hanno fanatizzato l’opinione pubblica nazionale con retoriche pseudo-patriottiche ed hanno speso in missioni diplomatiche e viaggi aerei somme enormemente superiori al costo dei risarcimenti alle famiglie degli uccisi e di una buona difesa legale.

Molti osservatori si chiedono ancora cosa può nascondere il fatto che l’Italia offenda così assurdamente l’India da quasi tre anni con atteggiamenti razzisti e coloniali per una questione che poteva essere già risolta con normale prudenza diplomatica.

Sono state proposte anche ipotesi su un carico illegale della nave cisterna, ma la risposta è molto più semplice: i politici italiani sfruttano qualsiasi occasione per coprire con false missioni patriottiche le loro scandalose corruzioni ed inefficienze nell’amministrazione dell’Italia.

E l’incidente con l’India dimostra che a questo scopo i politici italiani sono pronti anche a sacrificare i propri militari, peggiorando la loro situazione mentre fingono di difenderli, ed a violare il rispetto dovuto agli altri popoli e Paesi.

Esiste anche un precedente inverso degli anni ’80, quando l’Italia violava sistematicamente le acque territoriali della Jugoslavia con traffici illegali che utilizzavano pescherecci dotati illegalmente di motori sovradimensionati per sfuggire alle motovedette jugoslave.

Nel 1986 una motovedetta jugoslava sparò per fermare uno dei pescherecci illegali italiani in fuga, uccidendo un pescatore. Ma l’Italia accusò di violazione la Jugoslavia e falsificò le perizie tecniche per processare e condannare il comandante della motovedetta jugoslava a 15 anni di carcere.

L’incidente attuale con l’India conferma che la corruzione strutturale e l’arroganza del sistema politico ed istituzionale italiano sono peggiorati sino a diventare un rischio strategico per gli equilibri e per gli interessi di tutta la Comunità internazionale.

L’Italia sta persino tentando di eliminare in silenzio il Porto Franco internazionale del Free Territory of Trieste, che le le Nazioni Unite hanno istituito dal 1947 al servizio delle navi, delle merci e delle imprese marittime, commerciali, industriali e finanziarie di tutti gli Stati del mondo, India compresa.

Il Porto Franco di Trieste è infatti strategico per la libertà dei traffici con l’Europa centroorientale, con Mediterraneo, con l’Oceano Indiano attraverso Suez, con l’Atlantico attraverso Gibilterra e col Mar Nero attraverso il Bosforo.

Il Governo italiano, che è amministratore civile provvisorio del Free Territory od Trieste per conto del Consiglio di Sicurezza delle Nazioni Unite, sta violando il mandato ed i diritti degli altri Stati per dirottare definitivamente i traffici internazionali da Trieste sui porti italiani.

Dove quei traffici strategici internazionali non sarebbero più liberi da tasse e da discriminazioni politiche, ma sottoposti a tutti i condizionamenti e i ricatti del sistema di corruzione politico e mafioso italiano.

Gli stessi osservatori si chiedono perciò da tempo quando gli altri Stati e le loro imprese reagiranno a questi abusi chiedendo al Governo italiano ed alle Nazioni Unite che vengano rispettate le norme sul Free Territory of Trieste ed i loro diritti sul suo Porto Franco internazionale.
